Nov. 2 that the organization codrinesed a range of national and state information when making its decisions, with Delaware a leading concern in the United States due to ease of incorporation there and the fact that it is “the state most commonly highlighted with regard to financial secrecy.”Luxembourg, Switzerland, the Cayman Islands, and the United Kingdom (City of London), in that order, were next on the group's index. Filling out the top 10 on the list of 60 countries were Ireland, Bermuda, Singapore, Belgium, and Hong Kong.In a video posted on TJN's blog, Murphy explained that the group looked at such data as total deposits in banks and overall banking secrecy at the national level, but it also looked at incorporation on a state level in the United States.“We had to use Delaware,” Murphy said, noting that his organization could have used other states such as Wyoming or Nevada, but chose Delaware “ because it is the most popular state for incorporation in the U.S.A.,” and frequently cited for secrecy issues.Delaware Corporate Register Seen ‘Utterly Useless.’Murphy said that, while his group understands that corporations must register in Delaware, that register is “almost utterly useless” because “ you cannot be sure that the registered owner of the Delaware corporation is in fact the real owner of the Delaware corporation.”“We want to hold people to account for the corporations that they own and if that information is not on the register, we don't think the register performs a useful function,” Murphy said.He acknowledged that TJN has been criticized for saying that there are no accounts for Delaware companies filed with the register, but he said this remains true unless the companies are publicly traded.“We don't think that's sufficient information,” Murphy said, stressing that limited liability companies should have stronger reporting requirements in the state. He said limited liability is a right granted by a state that essentially protects the owners of the company from their own actions. Those granted this “extraordinary right” have a duty to make their financial information available, Murphy said. . . .

Escape,There comes a point when rational ppeloe decide it is NOT worth earning the extra buck. Mrs. Shore and I were talking about the hours spent earning our income and have seriously discusswd whether it is worth the time and effort to generate the income that puts us above the new rich benchmarks. Certainly, we would take a substantial hit in income and it would reduce our ability to travel etc. On the other hand, we travel in large part to seek a diversion from the daily (and I mean 7 days a week most weeks) grind that, unless one gets away from once in a while, will chew one up and spit one out. I recognize that we are lucky and many, well, most, ppeloe don't have any choice and MUST seek out every additional dollar; however, we have been lucky and, after seeing relatives go to an early grave from overwork and stress, it gives one pause. Two questions for the assembled: Is the mortgage deduction a critical, do or die, component to housing affordability, or is it just perceived as being so? If B.O. gets or allows congress to eliminate the mortgage interest deduction, will it have a greater benefit to ppeloe in the long run by: a) putting downward pressure on prices and eliminaing the rebate psychology that comes with home buying; b) focusing homeowners on the spending made in their towns and states, as the dont worry about it you get to deduct it on your taxes mentality goes away?

children shouldn’t smoke pot, and that it’s an adult acitivty. You attempted to portray prohibition as somehow protecting children, when ALL reformers know it harms them. No. No one KNOWS what is your opinion.Since prohibition on alcohol our teen drunk rate has become the worst on the planet.teem use in Holland and those looking for help with pot addiction rose dramtically after they decriminalized it because intial legislation and regulation was insufficient you really should try quitting resting on your… laurels. The only thing I had to judge by was what you were saying mostly prohibitionist arguments. If you want to stop being seen in that light, stop making their case. You should really be man and just admitt the facts I posted 2 years ago and stop this childish pretending that only what I said on the thread can be applied to my argument. Its really quite pathetic when you yourself use references that are dated more than two years ago.I can show proof here at other blogs and my own that my positions have been consistent for years. You cannot show otherwise other than to throw out the crap you pulled outa yer butt Happy? Nope, that was dumb.Try and run that line of crap off to any cop or doctor in an emergency ward or the mother whos kids are hungry because dad screwed of the grocery money on potObviously you have a problem with people who approve of things like pot in our society but simply want precautions based on fact.

The conflict steatrd with micky being heavily vested in the false idea of marijuana addiction. I dont have to convince you of it.It exists. I see the flesh and blood results of it everyday. Many reputable reliable government studies in cooperation with many universities say it is. Addiction is continuous use to avoid intolerable withdrawal symptoms. I submitted a scientific description of addiction to you that you completely ignored.I have passed the Hawaii state exam on addiction, I am an addict of 30 + years, have worked with addicts and alcoholics for at least 15 at numerous professional facilities across the country. The withdrawals from pot are not life theatening as with opiates or aclcohol, the key ingredients dont assimilate to the cellular structure creating physical dependence but they do have a profound psychological effect that has people making some poor decicisions when they need more.Crack and meth are not likely to give withdrawal symptoms that are nearly as bad as that of alcohol or opiates yet they are just as addictive as anyone knows. So your argument that addiction is based only on the attempt to avoid withdrawal symptoms is sophomoric at bestYou know nothing.

they will take part in a debate on WBGO Jazz 88 on Thursday, October 22 at 8pm. But Republican gnbiruatoreal nominee Christopher Christie is waiting to see how Corzine responds to debate invitations from League of Women Voters debate for October 16, which would have been broadcast by the New York and Philadelphia ABC affiliate, and from NJ 101.5. Jon Corzine is afraid to debate on a major network affiliate with a large audience but agrees to a debate on a station whose board is stacked with Democrat party loyalists, said Christie strategist Michael DuHaime. He should be willing to go on network if for no other reason than to apologize to as many New Jerseyans as possible for raising income, business and property taxes, taking way property tax rebates and property tax deductions and doubling the unemployment rate. On Election Day, he won't be able to hide behind his money anymore. After Corzine initially refused to participate in New Jersey Network's October 1 debate that was sanctioned by the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC), NJN tried to move it back to October 22, since Corzine indicated he would take part then. That led to ELEC's four commissioners deadlocked along partisan lines, and to Corzine acquiescing to the original date. Christie Campaign Manager Bill Stepien then issued a statement inviting Corzine to debate on the later date, since it appears his schedule is also open for a debate on Oct. 22. While we have agreed to the debate, Christie has not, even after he challenged the governor to debate on that very same date-, said Corzine spokeswoman Elizabeth Smith.WBGO News Director Doug Doyle said that the October 22 date is not final, and that the station is attempting to find a way to accommodate all three candidates. There's nothing official on that on any side, because it's still in the preliminary talks, he said. The Newark-based station reaches the northern half of New Jersey, all five boroughs of New York City and parts of New York State. Doyle said that he will look into partnering up with other public radio stations if he can confirm a date with all three candidates.
