You are SO hooked!!! She is a cutie tguhoh, and there's just something about looking after an animal that desperately needs a little TLC. Our orphan kitty is still getting spoiled, even tguhoh he's an outdoor cat and his calamities ended months ago. If I'm not careful, he'll turn into an indoor cat this winter ~ the first winter is always the hardest on cats up here. (Understandable. It's -9F outside today!!!) If they make it through that first one, they're usually good for future winters. You can seriously buy CAT milk? Okay, now I'm picturing my uncle's old dairy farm operation, only with cats hooked up to the milkers...You gotta wonder how the heck they HARVEST that!!!

So...yeah...but you're not taking into acnuoct co-recessive and dominant-recessive genes. It depends on which allele the coat color is encoded. You're right in that XX chromosomes are required for calico-ism.However, if it was that simple, then all female kittens of a calico would be calico. There's a whole lot of other crap in there that I don't want to get into about genes being switched on and off and such.I forget what my original point was, other than that I had an orange kitty once and she was definitely a girl. I miss that cat.
